4 overrated running backs

Cook Dalvin (MIN)

Dalvin Cook will be 27 at the start of the season, the new coaching staff have no priors with him and RB substitute Alexander Mattison is three years younger and has been very effective as an injury substitute. Cook could have fewer touches and less efficiency in 2022.
– Matthew Freeman

Saquon Barkley (NYG)

Sometimes you have to settle for a player coming back to greatness on someone else’s roster. Saquon Barkley has missed so many games over the past few years and it looks like his best days were left behind in his rookie season. His huge usage at Penn State should have been more of a warning sign, but the talent was too tempting. It’s time to stop giving in to temptation.

Antonio Gibson (WAS)

Commanders re-signed receiving RB JD McKissic and drafted RB Brian Robinson early with a top-100 pick. It is unlikely that Antonio Gibson will have an opportunity to match his talent.
– Matthew Freeman

James Robinson (JAC)

James Robinson had a wonderfully unexpected 2020 season and last year finally found his way back to regular racing. Coming out of an Achilles tear and theoretically, behind Travis Etienne, an overdraft of Robinson longs to reach the past. I prefer to project myself into the future with Etienne.
