DeVonta Smith dealing with groin injury
Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith is suffering from a groin injury and will not practice Thursday according to The Athletic’s Zach Berman. (Source: Zach Berman on Twitter)
Fantastic Impact: Smith’s groin injury will be monitored daily, but is not believed to be serious. Smith was present and committed to training, but was held back due to an abundance of caution so early. Currently, the team is confident he should be ready for next week’s first preseason game against the New York Jets. Smith heads into this regular season looking to build on his rookie season where he finished with 64 receptions for 916 yards and five touchdowns as an underutilized weapon on a first offense. If Smith can take the next step this season and take advantage of defensive plans to focus more on new teammate AJ Brown, Smith has a chance to be as dormant as a player under two removed from a trophy. Heisman can be.
Dalvin Cook (hand) trains hard on Wednesday
Vikings RB Dalvin Cook fully participated in Wednesday afternoon’s padded practice. (Source: Kevin Seifert on Twitter)
Fantastic Impact: There had been concerns over a hand injury which had limited him in Tuesday’s sessions, but he trained without problems yesterday. The story remains the same for the 27-year-old full-back. If he can stay healthy, he could be a top 5 running back in the league. It is encouraging for Fantasy managers that he was able to quickly return to full participation and continues to have a top 10 ADP.

Matthew Stafford is dealing with a tendon problem in his throwing elbow
Matthew Stafford is reportedly struggling with a tendon problem in his throwing elbow that will limit his throws in practice. (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter)
Fantastic Impact: Rapoport said the injury was described as “bad tendonitis”. He added that Stafford underwent elbow surgery in the offseason, but it was not surgery. We’ve seen Stafford pick up injuries throughout his career so there’s not too much to worry about right now, but it will be worth watching throughout training camp, pre -season and regular season.

Trey McBride misses practice due to back pain
Cardinals TE rookie Trey McBride has missed the last two practices due to back pain. (Source: Josh Weinfuss on Twitter)
Fantastic Impact: McBride, who was a second-round pick for the Cardinals this year, has missed the last two practices with persistent back pain. It shouldn’t be serious and the team just wants him to be 100% for his pre-season games. For fantasy purposes, McBride might be worth a late pick at the end of bestball drafts.
