Five best lower league saves to try

Football Manager 2023 is coming soon, so we run through some of the best challenges you can complete in the game.

Although yet to be officially announced, the franchise has continually followed a yearly release schedule and we are anticipating a November release for the latest game in the series.

The beta will take place two weeks before, as is tradition, and we’ve scoured the leagues to find the best saves you can make.

We’ve covered the Premier League and the Championship and now we’ll take a look at the best saves from the lower league – League 1, League 2 and non-League – for you to try.

Let’s get straight to the point!

Five best lower league saves to try

Wanderers of Bolton

Languishing in League One, Bolton is the epitome of a fallen giant.

They tumbled down the leagues, going from a Premier League side with Jay-Jay Okocha and Ivan Campo to playing in the third tier.

They finished ninth last season, having won promotion the season before, and are now looking to move up the ranks.

Can you guide them to the Premier League?

Last season was a disaster.

The Gills fell from Ligue 1 to Ligue 2 and suffered huge squad surgery, with up to 15 players coming in and 13 leaving.

Can you bring them back to Ligue 1 and then climb to the Premier League? It’s a huge challenge.

Scunthorpe United

Yeah, good luck with this one.

They finished lowest in Ligue 2 last season, winning just four games all season and taking just 26 points from 46 games.

They are now in non-league football and signed 11 new players this summer.

Can you get them back in the Football League?

Dover Athletic

We like to give you tough challenges!

Dover received a 12-point deduction last season and finished lowest in the National League, ending the season with just one point.

Oh, and they conceded 101 goals. Whip them into shape!

We have to mention them in every non-league backup article we do and it’s still true.

They are backed by Hollywood glitz and have a much larger budget than any of their competitors in the division.

Bring them into the Football League and continue their meteoric rise. This one is much easier than Dover!
