How to change your fantasy football team name and best FPL name inspiration for 2022-23

The Premier League is back, and with it comes fantasy football.

Like every year, you’ve prepared for the Fantasy Premier League with the attention to detail of a true manager, sculpting your squad and analyzing all matches and team news ahead of the opening weekend .

But do you feel like the name you chose just doesn’t have the right vibe? Here’s everything you need to know if you can change your name.

Can I change my name?

Yes, you can change your name. As well as other things such as jersey, team, captain, etc.

You are not stuck with the choice you made at the start of the season.

You can edit your team details, and everything else, on the team details page.

What is the Gameweek 1 FPL deadline?

The deadline to submit your squads (with your hilarious squad name) for Gameweek 1 is 6.30pm on Friday August 5, ahead of Crystal Palace vs Arsenal.

As was the case last year, the transfer submission deadline is 90 minutes before the start of the first Premier League game of the weekend at 8pm.

What’s new in Fantasy Premier League?

Two big changes will come into effect this season: managers can activate two-factor authentication to increase the security of their accounts and they can make unlimited transfers from Saturday November 12 to Monday December 26 while the World Cup is played at the Qatar.

Over the past couple of seasons, many FPL managers have reported that their teams have been “hacked” by malicious troublemakers (or dastardly mini-league rivals…) carrying out multiple transfers to rival teams for suffer monstrous points.

While seeing a friend’s team decimated in this way can be a source of entertainment, you wouldn’t want this to happen to your own team, so adding an extra layer of security can only be a positive step.

The second addition, meanwhile, will effectively give managers three Wildcards to use in the 2022-23 season: one before November 12, one during the World Cup and another.
