Jeremy Livolant’s 40-meter volley will be remembered for a long time

Jeremy Livolant scored an insanely good volley from 40 yards in a Ligue 2 game for Guingamp.

Guingamp de Livolant’s team faced Laval in the French second division this weekend.

Both clubs won their opener and thus headed into the clash eager to continue and grab the top spot in the table.

But on a day when there was little to separate the two teams, it took Livolant’s truly incredible long-range volley to give Guingamp victory in the closing stages.

How did it happen

After Guingamp had secured a free kick in the opposition half and tried to drive the ball over the defence, the ensuing clearance bounced perfectly past the waiting Livoland.

The Frenchman backed up and fired a speculative shot which, to be quite honest, looked almost impossible to ask to land in the back of the net.

But to the amazement of everyone in the stadium, as well as Laval’s helpless keeper, the shot went straight into the top corner of the net.

On a day when many thought Lionel Messi’s bicycle kick would set the bar as the best goal ever, it turns out Livolant’s deafening volley takes the cake.

Especially since he turned out to be the winner as Guingamp snatched a 2-1 win and moved up to the top of the standings in impressive fashion.

None, however, will manage to get past this strike, which was straight out of the draw.

Guingamp are back in action next weekend against Paris FC in the third Ligue 2 game of the season and after that goal, well, we’d expect Livolant to be the first name to make it onto the scoresheet. ‘crew.
