Three shootings, one dead at Mirage in latest Las Vegas Strip shootout

Billy Hemsley Mirage Shooter

In what has sadly become a common part of the new Democratic-run Las Vegas Strip, three people were shot dead in a hotel room at the Mirage Las Vegas last night.

Officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to a shooting inside an 8th floor hotel room around 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Authorities say a fight broke out in the space between four people and the suspect, Billy Hemsley. Hemsley then shot two adult women and a man, Acturius Dwyane Milner, who died at the scene.

The shooting caused the Mirage Casino and Hotel to be locked down for more than two hours as police searched for the suspect.

He was later found and arrested near Nellis and Twain Blvd. Hemsley was taken to the Clark County Detention Center on one open count of murder and two counts of attempted murder.

According to court records, like so many recent shooters, this shooter was also well known to Las Vegas police. In 2003, Hemsley shot his cousin. this case was argued for a charge of pointing a firearm at a human being. In 2012, Hemsley was charged with attempted murder with the use of a deadly weapon.

The shooting comes as the city faces a series of shootings on the Las Vegas Strip and Fremont Street. Last month, Fremont Street said it had put in place a number of security measures to give tourists “the impression” that they were trying to stop the violence after a series of shootings in front of tourists.

A few weeks ago, the entire Las Vegas Strip went into panic mode after active shooters were reported at seven different casinos. Of course, Las Vegas police say it was just a stone thrown at an MGM window that freaked out tens of thousands of people at 7 different casinos more than a mile away. According to our sources, it was a planned attack by gangs of teenagers to simulate a mass shooting and cause panic.

That same night, an internet streamer trying to start night fights on the Las Vegas Strip, stood outside the Cosmopolitan and threatened to kill people for over 30 minutes – police did NOTHING to stop the man, and claims that apparently was not the case. it won’t happen either despite the video evidence!
